Marriage is too much fun!!!

I say that because I am noticing that I want to spend less and less time with my homework. I am also noticing that work would be much more fun if Seth were there too. I guess I will just have to cross my fingers and hope that Seth can retire at age 23....which may be possible since he was just accepted into the Accounting Program at BYU....how cool is that!?! But we will save the stories of retirement for later. For now I am forced to update everyone on our life, yes our life because we have decided to blog together! yay! I don't know if you have noticed but Seth has only posted once compared to my ....well I have written a lot more than him. So I predict he will be writing next. The Reminiscent you once knew has changed, it is now a married view point, interesting right? By the way Reminiscent is an adjective referring to past situations and this means that we will write about things in the past. Therefore, the past can consist of a day to months, which explains the lack of consistency in writing on this blog.

Even MORE Honeymoon.....day

So on our last day in California we checked out of our hotel and waited for the car rental man to bring us the car. Well the car rental man came and said "you aren't Seth Sainsbury are you?" I am pretty sure he thought we were two teenagers or something because it seemed like he couldn't believe that we were renting a car. we said "yes" and he walked us out to the hotel pick up zone ....and there sat a beautiful 2008 red dodge charger...like high class charger...my mouth almost dropped to the floor I was about to say "Seth are you serious, do you really think we have the money to just rent a charger for one day." but I held my tongue because the car guy got into the front seat....for some reason when I thought of the enterprise commercials I always assumed that the "we'll pick you up" just meant that they would drop the car off at the given location. I was wrong. They get in the car, and drive you to the enterprise (easily confused with the star ship from star trek, its not the same thing btw) So the car man drove us there and we sign a gagillion papers and then he takes us to our real car...I kinda hoped it would be just as sweet as the charger, but at the same time I did not want it because I just KnEW something would go bad if we did (it's unlucky to try to live a high class life when you don't have the funds to back it). YET I did not want a trashy car that may not make it to the beach (of which was our destination, and then the airport). Luckily we were given a middle-class car that was sheik but not too crazy that someone would rob us on the one day we would do something that was probably not as financially sound as we usually are. Not quite sure what type of car it was but I felt a lot more normal in this one, it's funny how that works, dont you think?
After we got the car, it was Santa Monica Beach, BABY! Side note: Julie (me) hasn't really hung out near the ocean the one time she did it was to a visit to mexico and she preferred the pool that sat right next to the ocean, something about "recent shark sightings in this area" kind of scared her. Other side note: the only beach she has ever hung out at is Utah Lake Beach...which as we all know is not a beach so much as a deposit of mud that suctions the life out of anything that steps on it.
I hoped that Santa Monica would be better. Hoped may be an understatement...I prayed. It was a beautiful balmy 70 degrees. We pulled up into a parking area and were lucky enough to see a van just leaving so we pulled up right behind it. But then we got even more lucky because they got out of their car and gave us their parking pass, so our parking was FREE!!!! ( we would have originally had to pay like 7 dollars I think) It was so cool, one of many blessings that we had on our honeymoon. After parking we walk down toward the side walk that leads to the ferris wheel dock thingy. It was the weirdest thing there was turf grass and people were doing yoga and boxing. Weird but cool I wish that I could just go to the beach and work out to the sound of the waves. Once we were on the dock I was amazed to see the ocean up close. It was so clear (ish) It was absolutely beautiful, I could honestly say that I would love to live by a beach someday. It was just one of those things where you just are stunned by the glory of our heavenly father. so here are seth and I on the ferris wheel dock. And no we did not go on the ferris wheel, I was just as content to sit and stare at the wonders of the ocean.
In these two pictures we were trying to stand just far enough that when we came home we could crop one of us in, so we could be together in the picture (it wasn't too crowded on the dock) Yeah, If I could crop I would try.....



so then we tried to take a picture of ourselves together, we were kind of successful



After we realized this was too much work we decided to ask a couple that happened to walk by if they would take a picture...in reality they were the first people I saw that didn't look like they would steal our camera. :)




After the dock we headed down to the ocean to actually touch the water that was licking the shores of the Santa Monica beach. This sand was like NO sand I have ever touched with my feet. It was so soft and squishy, so here I am enjoying the sand.


As you may notice there is no one in the water, well that wasn't because of shark sightings, but rather it was freezing, up until this point I had managed to stay gingerly warm and dry (other than my toes) but as seth had me posing for the next picture....well see for yourself


Yup a WAVE, a real one, came up from behind and splashed up to my mid thigh. Imagine this julie in cute white capri's...wave....julie in wet white pants. grrrr, oh well, I was after all at a beach in CALIFORNIA with the hottest man on the planet <3 Julie & Seth at Santa Monica beach in California!!!!!



after the beach we rushed to the enterprise drop off zone and were lucky to make our flight back to the freezing Salt Lake City Utah. California was a wonderful surprise, there were so many cool things to do and see! I would love to go back because I know that there is tons of stuff I have yet to see. Thank you Seth for a beautiful trip that I will always remember with a smile on my face.
And thus begins the non-honeymoon chronicles......

Honeymoon Continued.....
On the next day of our California adventure we had a blast hanging out with the mute actors across the park. After seeing several children in pictures with disney characters I thought they were having the time of their life chillin' with the princesses etc. but when I posed for this picture I was so uncomfortable that minney wasn't talking to me....all she could do was mime, needless to say I was a bit disappointed; alas, I was still able to muster up a smile for this photo op that I have seen countless other happy children pose for.


by the way this entire trip we waited in lines but they weren't terrible lines...nothing compared to the boring lagoon lines but I couldn't believe there was a LINE for Minney.

After this precious photo, Seth and I tried to get tickets to the Aladin show but there was like a two hour wait so seth thought it would be funny to take me on the TOWER of TeRrOr .....I'll admit I was a little terrified...okay a lot terrified...so when I was standing in line and saw these five-year-olds all I could think was "what kind of parent would take there miniature child on a terrifying ride" I was scared standing in line, I couldn't believe that they would attempt to scare their kids any further. so yeah...the ride was terrifying but not as terrifying as I was afraid it was going to be, see look I'm kinda smiling!
The Aladdin show was hilarious! Well more like the genie was hilarious! it was really cool to see a disney movie acted out on stage. Some of their props were really cool! In my expert opinion (after the plight with the children on the Terror ride) I would encourage every parent to take their kid to this. We didn't get a photo because I think they said no photos...but that didn't stop some people.
I'm not quite sure where this is..but I thought it was so cool how ornate everything was in Disneyland. Everything looked like the time period/effect it was going for.

Here we are on the buzz lightyear ride, the scores are messed up I am space ranger 1, yeah I know beginners luck.

the last ride that I will post for today is splash mountain. This was the ride Seth told me I was going to love...that it was sooo much fun. I was lucky enough to get the very front of this ride...by the end of this ride I was soaking wet, *note to my future self do not go in the front when seth says I will love this ride.Well when I get more time I will post more stories but in reality we were so lucky on a lot of the rides we went on. We were always on the front of rides. I was the driver on the indiana Jones ride, which was cool! The funniest thing about california is that it was a wonderful 70 degrees and some californians were wearing sweaters and ugg boots, while I was sweating in my short sleeve shirt. The california saga will continue....tomorrow

The Honeymooners!

so for our honeymoon Seth surprised me with a trip to California! This was my first time in Disneyland and my first time in California! California was perfect! Our first day we flew from utah to cali in like three hours it was awesome!

When we arrived it was so amazingly warm. After leaving a 60 degree Utah it was nice to step into 73 degree weather.

Our hotel was a five minute walk from Disneyland. So we basically went back and forth as we pleased which I was so grateful for because it is hard to go on rides for eight hours straight. And it was convenient because we did not have a car.

At first I wasn't too excited to go because I imagined Disneyland would be just like Lagoon. I first knew that Disneyland was different when the front man checking my purse welcomed Seth and I as prince and princess hahah. I had no idea how BIG Disneyland is, there is so much to see that you just cant see it all in one day! After walking past the prince and princess greeter we headed toward the line to get into Disneyland. Then we walked past this building (not quite sure what it was supposed to be) and we were IN Disneyland. IT was so cool...all the detail...the atmosphere... everyone was happy...all of my fears went away and I just soaked up how awesome it was, and we were only in the shopping area! Seth was kind enough to let me walk really slow down this part and point at things and say "look at that!" every two seconds. I was as giddy as a little kid!

I'm Married! November 24th 2009 Seth and I were sealed together FOR-EV-ER

It was a wonderful day but I will admit, it went by sooo quickly. It was A LOT of smiling...people were always telling us that but really my face hurt so bad so in some pictures you can really tell.

It was a beautiful sunny day..the sun provided warmth but that also meant that seth and I were squinty in a lot of pictures so right now I am trying to figure out how to save our wedding pictures because a lot of them have shadows on my face but then seth is squinty winky.

After the temple we rushed to the luncheon (kindly prepared by seths parents) and enjoyed an afternoon of relaxation. I do not have any pictures of the luncheon but hope someone has some!

Our reception went from 7-9. Two hours doesn't seem like a long time, but it is a long time to stand in line! I loved seeing all the people who came, it is kind of surprising who shows up at your receptions. Here are some pictures.....

Overall November 24th had a fairy tale ending to an exciting day. I couldn't have done it without the love and support of my family and my new family. I have been so blessed with family that loves us so much. I will never forget how willing and kind everyone was! Thank you to all who helped especially: Deborah for her wonderful cake making skills, Brady and Carol for taking care of catering I am so so thankful I did not have to worry about that, Doreen for her elegant floral design, and for all the family that came and set up and took down. I love you all for making this day so special for Mr. & Mrs. Seth Charles Sainsbury!
