Life as it is

So this last week was my birthday and boy was it good! it was a true birthday week! the festivities began last Tuesday where my roommates surprised me with gifts galore counting down the days till I would be the big 21! Saturday was my friend party where we had my friends come over to chat and to have cake. Can I tell you how much pressure is put on the birthday girl to entertain. I loved the party, but gosh sometimes I was afraid that people thought I was boring or something because all I was doing was trying to catch up with people.

After cake which was so generously provided by my loving roommate Trisha, we headed to Classic Skating. Where I immediately came to realize I have not skated in YEARS! I also had not realized how popular it was....there were tonz of people there. By the way we were dressed up because it was disco night. So here are some pics from that, it was definitely a blast!

So after that we came back and played games and said good night. It was by far the best party I have had in a long time! It was really good to see old friends and new friends become good friends.

Monday was the family party and can I just tell you how amazing Deborah is! well she is amazing! she made my cake and it was beautiful.... and yes that is fondant. Best Family Birthday EVER!!!!

So then comes my real birthday day...MARCH 3 for those of you who are still unsure as to when I was really born. I didnt do anything too crazy. I went to school and then worked for six hours, I then came home ate left over pizza and chilled on the couch doing "homework" (I fell asleep) after being awakened which is something that my roommates never do because they realize the vengeance of Julie. Trisha, Emily, and Laura then went to 7-11 with me for a weekly ritual of getting hot cocoa. On our way back from visiting a good friend. Anna (my room roommate) had called and was acting kinda weird so we walk in and I go to get some tums *vital when sugar intake has greatly exceeded over a four day period. When Kelsey said, "Julie can I borrow your scriptures..." I was like "okay? what happened to yours?"...then Anna said "Julie I made your bed you should go look at it." By this point I was like what the heck is going on? What did they do to my bed...and I walk in and see my best friends and old roommates Leanne Lecheminant, Becca Snyder, Alex Ahern, and Kelsi Brimhall sitting on my bed!!!!!! oh what a good surprise! I Love my friends!

Thanks to everyone who made this day (or rather week) so special. I cannot thank you all enough!

Time has flown by

Hey, so it has been a while...whats new? I finally have time to blog and it is the week before finals that kinda has me worried. But for now I will just blog and figure the other stuff out later. I have realized that I love looking at others blogs so I should probably update for you guys too. Especially since yesterday Sherie called and said she didn't even know what I looked like, whats that all about? So quick update, I have been crazy busy with school, work, and boys. yet, I havent had this much fun in a long time. Hallelujah for my roommates! speaking of which I am posting some of our roomate + Laura pictures. Laura is included because she is one of our apartments good friends, even though she doesnt live in our apartment. Does she look like anyone you guys know? shes the one in purple. okay so I cant figure out how to organize the pictures so I will just leave the post at this. Let me know what else you guys want to know...now that I have answered Sheries question. haha love ya fam!

People!!!

so, here i am!!! in case all of you were wondering where I went. Have no fear, I was here all along. So quick low down on the life of Julie Call....single, working, and going to school.
I love BYU! It has been quite an experience here so far. It is hard but I think I can handle it.
So I guess I will start with the singleness, yes I am. I have been asked for my number a few times, but it always seems that they never use it. So the next time I am asked for my number I am pretty sure I am just going to say "I'm sorry, I forgot it." or something with that same effect. how do you think that will go over? ha. It has been good to get back in touch with old friends. I didn't realize how the Provo bubble really does affect relationships. I almost never hang out with my friends from Springville (or Idaho, I suppose) anymore. It is really cool to see where everyone is in life now.
Work. I work at the Counseling and Career Center in the Wilk. My department is more specifically the Career Center and Academic Success Center, I am a paraprofessional for one of the counsellors there. Basically I love it! I have even considered changing my major, or double majoring. I would love to be a career counselor or an academic counsellor at a high school. I was looking it up a while back, it is going to be a lot of work. But I think that being a history major was kind of a dead end. I really would like to publish some of my own theories on history. But until I can do that, I think I will look into a counselling job. If you have any suggestions let me know.
School. Well, I kind of covered it in the work section but more specifically. I am in a history of Spain class right now, and it is so awesome. I need to learn some spanish but despite that, this is one of my favorite classes this semester. I am also in two dance classes; dance 260 and dance 180. 260 is the history of dance (which is only interesting because I am a history major, otherwise, I am positive that modern dance is NOT my favorite, but meh who knows maybe I havent been out much). 180 is a social dance, haha and by that I mean I am socializing with kids a foot shorter than me and two years younger than myself. yup AWKWARD! However, it is a really fun class, I am always happy after I leave it because it is not impossible to dance, just challenging. I am also in History 221, oh the bane of my exhistance! I am pretty sure this is a rediculous class, or maybe it is the teacher? anywho next class, I am also in a survey of world religions class, *Doreen, thank you so so so much for your notes, I have no idea what the heck he is saying. yup my teacher is from korea, and I have such a hard time understanding the words coming out of his mouth. Pretty sure if I didnt have Doreen's notes to follow I would not be doing so well....Doreen, is that right? <- inside joke you would have to have him as a teacher to understand. haha I counted 50 'is that right' in just thirty minutes of class. He is still a way cool teacher, very funny, so dont think I am dissing on him.
Yup well that is my life so far. school, work, handing out numbers. I will definately make a better attempt at writing more often to let y'all know what is going on.

put on quite a show

rihanna,oh blessed woman! Many people have asked me what my fetish with rihanna, beyonce etc. is....well it is that they are so empowering. Who doesnt need empowerment? They are perfect to listen to when you are angry, tired, or heartbroken. Basically they are the ultimate way to get over rough things in life. After listening to their songs I am not angry, vengeful, or sad. I just want to pick myself up and move on. What else could be better than that? So basically, stop crying do something about it while you listen to the all too awesome rihanna and beyonce! KAZAA
