Since we have been here we have loved trying different foods and going to new places. I never thought food could taste so good. More specifically, I have grown to have a love for pizza here. It is so different from our former favorite ( haha :) little ceasars) I could probably eat pizza by the slice all day here! In addition to our food extravaganza we have really loved seeing Walter grow up here. It is amazing what a few days with Maddy, Eva, and Owen can affect Walter. Of course I loved the constant battling over who could hold him and who would push him in the stroller (I never thought I would see an argument over that!) It was really cute and as a result I have them to thank for this cute little video.
Walter has definitely found his voice! My favorite is everyday I'll set him down to get something done and he will coo and goo and ga. It is a very welcome change. I cannot believe how much he has changed in just four months! We are excited to see what else is in store this next month.
So far I haven't done a lot of touristy things but have enjoyed being here and experiencing new things. This is a picture from our apartment. It is a beautiful view!
Unfortunately what you do not see is a hospital right next to the white building so sadly I am realizing how loud it is here in NYC. The police and fire engine noises are so different from Utah. seriously! (that was for you marc and Theresa) I will have to record it sometime and play it for you. I am also positive that I have heard an alarm at least once every single hour here morning and night(I hope I get used to it soon) .....I hope Walter gets used to it soon.
Today was my first real day without family and without Seth. It is just Walter and I during the week now. I decided to start our first day off with getting a new toy for Walter. So I went on craigslist and found a bumbo for five dollars. I went and picked it up today (my first time going anywhere without someone else) Here he is
I think he loves it...well at least for about five minutes and then I think it gets too hard for him to hold up that 'uge 'ead. When I went to get the bumbo I have started to realize how crazy the weather is here this morning it was pouring. It lightened up a bit when I went to get the bumbo. Then it was blue skies for a few hours and now it is pouring rain. Theresa has told me that this is pretty normal so I will just have to get used to it but for today I will stay inside and relax and make a plan for what I want to do for the rest of our time here. :) If you have any advice for a mother touring NYC let me know.
Seth is enjoying his internship and is making a lot of friends :) I will probably have him post about it later.
we love our family and are thinking about you out here

You are guys are in NYC! I wish we were there. I would show you everything there is to do. How long will you guys be there for? We will be back August 13. Some advice for city living. The front pack is the easiet means of taking the baby out, at least for a short while. People are nice and will help you carry your stroller down the stairs to the subway if you take the stroller out. mta.com is the best website to use for trying to get around the city. I use the trip planner and it tells me exactly the times the transportation will be there. Most grocery stores will deliver your groceries for free, at least the ones I go to. You just go get your groceries and give them your address and they will deliver them. Fresh direct also is a an online grocery store you can have delivered to you. Central park is a blast. The city has a ton of parks so find which ones are closest to you. the NYC public libraries have story time so i like to take Cosette to that and it is free. The Met and natural history museums are a blast. The MET stays open late friday and Saturday nights till 9pm so Seth can even go with you. I am not sure where you guys are in the city but if you want I can get you added to my wards mommy group email list and then you can hear about all the things they are doing this summer. The biggest help for me living there has been the mommy group so if your ward has one join. Anyway I hope some of this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know. Have fun!
I love that you put a video of Walter on here. It is so fun to see him and get somewhat of an idea of.... well him. :) He is SO cute! I am glad you guys are doing well and we can't wait to hear, in depth about all your adventures.
I can't believe how much Walter changes every time I see him. He is rockin' that bumbo! We miss you guys and are excited for you to experience big city life. Keep us posted on your adventures, we love hearing all about them:)
We miss you guys! My only advice to you is that you see the city as much as you can while you're there!! You will never be sad that you went out and saw the city--especially if you end up somewhere else. You can get to so many places on the train from New York, so take advantage on the weekends! Walter is still (relatively) small, so he is the perfect traveling companion! There is waay less to do in Wisconsin than NYC, but I still regret not seeing/doing all the neat things there are out there now that we are gone. We miss you and hope you are having FUN!!!
